Tiger Woods arrested for DUI after vehicle rollover in Florida crash

Tiger Woods was involved in a car crash on March 27, 2026, in Jupiter Island, Florida, when his black SUV collided with another vehicle and rolled onto its driver's side, according to an arrest affidavit obtained by Fox News Digital.[1]

Martin County Sheriff John Budensiek stated during a news conference that Woods was traveling at a high rate of speed at the time of the collision.[1] Woods, the sole occupant of his vehicle, was unable to exit through the driver's door and climbed out the passenger side with assistance from the other driver and a bystander.[1]

Woods was arrested on charges of driving under the influence causing property damage and refusal to submit to a blood alcohol test. Authorities found two hydrocodone pills, a prescription opioid, in his pocket during the arrest.[1] Woods informed officers he had undergone seven back surgeries and more than 20 leg operations, and that he takes prescription medications.[1]

The incident occurred in Martin County, with Woods later transported from Martin County Jail in Stuart, Florida.[1]

This arrest marks Woods' second DUI-related incident in a decade. On May 29, 2017, he was arrested in Jupiter, Florida, after police found him asleep at the wheel of a running vehicle at around 3 a.m.; toxicology tests revealed multiple prescription drugs including hydrocodone in his system.[2]

In February 2021, Woods suffered serious lower leg injuries in a single-vehicle rollover crash in Rancho Palos Verdes, California, which sidelined him for the year.[2]

Tiger Woods is an American professional golfer with 15 major championships, including five Masters titles, and 82 PGA Tour victories.[2]
